My name is michael. I am an artist.
Welcome to my website. Here you will find a collection of the various artistic endeavors I am pursuing. As you will soon see, I tend to dabble in a variety of mediums. I love to mix medias. Blacksmithing with pottery and perhaps throw in a bit of stained glass for good measure
I concentrate in photography where I try to capture images that push the bounds of traditional "postcard" photos. Don't get me wrong, I do shoot great sunsets and boats, it's just I try to also capture images that make use of strong contrast and texture.
I also work watercolors. This is a particularly difficult medium as those that have attempted it can attest. I am trying to let go of the need to control the painting and let the medium "do it's thing". It is difficult.
I am currently taking classes with Mark Hayden, a Copley Society Master. I do pastel still lifes and oil portraits under his guidence. He still has openings in his oil painting classes, call for details.
